Bryan King believes that the Everton fans at Goodison Park "showed their worth" in the 2-0 win against Liverpool on Wednesday (24 April).

The ex-Everton scout has praised the club's supporters for getting behind their team against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the goals which secured all three points in the Merseyside derby, with the Toffees now seemingly safe from relegation.

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - feels that home advantage was key on Wednesday.

"I think the Goodison crowd showed their worth against Liverpool, and it certainly got to the players," King said.

"It looked like the old Everton way, the fans were behind the team, the players showed fight and closed Liverpool down from the first whistle to the last.

"Everybody in the stadium was up for that game, and it showed on the pitch."

It has been a tough season for the Toffees, and Goodison Park hasn't always been the most enjoyable place to visit.

The mood has been low on the blue half of Merseyside but on Wednesday night the Everton supporters ensured they gave their team the lift they needed.
