Bryan King has blasted the FA after Nottingham Forest were fined £750,000 for a social media post following their 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park (21 April).

The ex-Goodison scout doesn't understand how decisions over fines and points deductions are made.

This comes after the club questioned the impartiality of VAR Stuart Atwell, insisting he was a Luton Town fan and was therefore biased against Nuno Espirito Santo's side

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - doesn't understand why it is only the clubs in the bottom half of the table that seem to receive such punishments.

“It is better than six points,” King said.

“However, I can’t get my head around these fines. What about Manchester City? Where is that case going? Where do they get the points deductions for Everton from, and then why do they get points given back?

“What are the rules? What are the regulations here? A club like Nottingham Forest, their aim is to stay in the Premier League.

“However, it looks as though it is made more difficult for the clubs in the lower half of the table. I think the people running the game want to start looking at themselves.”

Nottingham Forest fined after Everton controversy

It would be hard to argue that Forest were unlucky to be punished, or that Everton shouldn't have been deducted points last season. However, the issue a lot of people have is the consistency.

Any time a club breaks any rules, they should be punished accordingly. However, it feels as though only the likes of Everton and Forest have been punished in recent times, despite alleged charges against other clubs.

Whenever a so-called 'big' Premier League club has allegedly broken any rules, the process always feels much slower. Therefore, supporters and those connected with the likes of Everton and Forest are bound to become frustrated.
