Everton seem to have learned the terms for Wilfried Ndidi's transfer after his contract expired at Leicester City earlier this summer.

The 27-year-old has a plethora of experience in the Premier League, having made nearly 300 appearances for the Foxes since arriving at the King Power Stadium in 2017.

With the midfielder choosing to see out his contract with the newly promoted Premier League team, the Toffees could look to swoop in and capture his signature, targeting a move this summer [Santi Aouna].

Sean Dyche's side are not the only ones interested in the Nigerian this summer, with Estadio Deportivo reporting [8 July] that Sevilla have seen a contract offer for the player already turned down.

It is understood that Ndidi has rejected an annual salary of £1.3million (€1.5million), having been accustomed to a £3.8million (€4.5million) wage with Leicester.

If the Toffees are serious about adding the former Leicester man to their ranks this summer, they will need to fork out more than that straight away.

Could Everton meet Wilfried Ndidi's contract requests this summer?

While there has been little movement when it comes to midfielders at Goodison Park, the general expectation is that Amadou Onana will be moving on this summer.

This would leave an important gap in midfielder for Dyche next season, one that the likes of Idrissa Gana Gueye, James Garner and Abdoulaye Doucoure could struggle to fill on their own.

Ndidi's Premier League calibre makes him a simple solution to a problem that has yet to emerge at Goodison Park but will likely appear before the window closes.

Everton could sign Wilfried Ndidi this summer

Several teams look to be vying for his signature, and considering his experience and talent on the pitch, it seems like a no-brainer to sign him on a free transfer, even if it does come with a hefty wage.

Of course, no player is more important than the club, so the Toffees should only spend what they are comfortable with in an attempt to seal the transfer of Ndidi, but it could be a huge miss if he were to move elsewhere.
