Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye was rightly cautioned for inciting the Brighton and Hove Albion fans after scoring, according to Keith Hackett.

Ndiaye fired Everton in front from the penalty spot late in the first half of the Toffees' 1-0 win at the Amex Stadium on Saturday (25 January) - although it was not all positive news.

The awarding of the spot-kick itself was controversial, and Ndiaye was quick to rub it in with his 'seagull' celebration in front of the Brighton fans.

In the view of former FIFA official Hackett, Ndiaye can have no complaints over the yellow card that swiftly followed, exclusively telling Goodison News: "Correct call.

"Players must be careful with their goal celebrations. This celebration could incite trouble with the fans."

As posted widely on social media, Ndiaye flapped his arms by his side to replicate a Seagull - that of course being Brighton's nickname.

The forward knew exactly what he was doing, and while it wound up three-quarters of the ground, the travelling fans will love him even more for doing it.

Ndiaye kept his cool from 12 yards to put the visitors in front, and there was no looking back for the Toffees as they picked up three valuable points.
