Just Stop Oil sent its backing to Everton following Wednesday's (24 April) Merseyside derby victory over Liverpool.

The protest group is now synonymous with Goodison Park after a stunt involving one of its members in the win over Newcastle United last year.

And the group sent a message to Everton supporters via its official X account [24 April] in the dying stages of the 2-0 victory against the Reds.

"COYB", the message read, alongside a smiling face with sunglasses emoji.

Everton enjoy memorable night at Goodison Park

Everton have been inundated with messages of support on the back of the hugely impressive victory against Liverpool.

Not only does the win all but confirm the Toffees' status as a Premier League side for another season, it badly dents Liverpool's title hopes.

Goodison Park will be no more in a little over a year's time, as sad as that is to think about, so wins of this magnitude have to be cherished.

Just Stop Oil will have a place in the Goodison scrapbook, so to speak, after that incident against Newcastle a little over a year ago.

A member named Louis entered the field and held up the game - you all remember why - before Everton went on to seal a 3-0 victory.

That was a key moment in the 2022-23 season, much like the win over Liverpool will be this season.

With one result - or two when also factoring in the contentious win against Nottingham Forest - the clouds of doom have been lifted over Goodison.
