Everton will reportedly cover less than 30 per cent of Jean-Philippe Gbamin's wages after he completed a loan move to CSKA Moscow.

According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Russian side will pay over 70 per cent of the midfielder's wages.

However, they do not retain an option to buy which means that the 26-year-old will return to Merseyside once the season ends.

Via his personal Twitter account, Romano wrote, "Jean-Philippe Gbamin deal doesn’t include any buy option clause. Straight loan from Everton to CSKA Moscow until the end of the season.

"Everton have accepted as CSKA will cover more than 70% of the salary."

Good deal

Gbamin will surely go down as one of the worst Everton signings in history.

He was signed for a lot of money and very little fanfare as few knew the player who had just joined.

As many expected, he failed to live up to the expectations and his fitness record clearly did not help him out in any way.

Everton

He's now being given a new lease of life in Russia and it remains to be seen how he fares in a less competitive league.

Seeing CSKA paying most of his wages is an extremely good thing as the Toffees were desperate to get him off their payroll.

While he still is taking some money off the club, there's a good chance they permanently sell him in the summer.
