The agent of Ramon Sosa has confirmed talks have been held with Everton chief Kevin Thelwell over a possible Goodison Park move for the Paraguay international.

ABC Cardinal reporter Wilson Gonzalez Bronce shared the update on his personal Twitter account on Friday (5 January).

Representative Daniel Campos revealed Everton's interest in a chat with Gonzalez Bronce, but the Toffees have yet to make a concrete bid.

"I was in England, I spoke with the sports director of Everton," Campos said, as per Gonzalez Bronce.

"There is no formal offer yet. We will see if we can move forward."

Fits the profile

This is a transfer link that appears to have come out of nowhere. Not a great amount is known about Sosa, but he is a 24-year-old winger that has been capped three times by Paraguay.

Sosa is currently on the books of Argentine club Talleres, while his previous clubs include Gimasia LP, Olimpia and South American heavyweights River Plate.

Everton

It was recently reported by The Athletic that MLS side LA Galaxy had a club-record bid for Sosa turned down.

When you consider their current record buy is the £7.5million ($9.5m) they spent on Javier Hernandez, Sosa is not exactly cheap.

Sean Dyche would no doubt like to add another attacker to his ranks, but the Toffees do not really seem to be in a position whereby they can splash any sort of cash.

That said, Sosa fits the profile of the type of player the club are looking to recruit in that he has showed signs of promise and is still young enough to improve. This seems like one to keep a very close eye on.
