Everton, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest may face similar challenges to work through regulations as Chelsea did last season, per the Evening Standard.

The news outlet reported on 17 January that the three clubs want to sign striker Jhon Cordoba who's plying his trade at Russian club Krasnodar.

However, with Russia's exile from the football community, this loan deal will be complicated, similar to what Chelsea faced in their quest to sign Arsen Zakharyan.

Tough one

The geopolitical situation, particularly Russia's exile from the European football community following the invasion of Ukraine, adds a layer of complexity to the transfer process.

Chelsea experienced similar challenges in signing Zakharyan last term and there's nothing to suggest that things are easier this time around.

To secure Cordoba ahead of other interested Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, Everton must navigate these complexities effectively.

The club needs to work through the regulations and bureaucratic hurdles associated with completing a deal involving a Russian club, ensuring compliance with the current landscape.

For a player who's unlikely to strengthen the playing eleven, this seems too complicated for Everton to even consider and they need to move on.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been doing decently and quite a significant amount of money was spent on Beto in the summer so the Toffees need to show faith in him and not sign another striker even if it's on loan.
