Everton transfer news: Maximilian Beier release clause update amid Liverpool, Brentford, Burnley links

The emergence of a release clause has been revealed in Maximilian Beier's contract amid Everton, Liverpool, Burnley and Brentford links, per Sport Bild.

The German newspaper reported in its print edition on Wednesday, 31 January, page 25, that the 21-year-old has a 27.7million release clause.

However, this value is reduced by £2.1million every year but the Toffees have to beat rivals Liverpool and other Premier League sides to sign the Hoffenheim striker.

The Toffees should forget about the German forward as the presence of a release clause, albeit reduced annually, suggests that Hoffenheim value him highly and are determined to receive a substantial fee for his transfer.

This could potentially inflate the overall cost of acquiring Beier for the Toffees.

Secondly, the competition from Liverpool and other Premier League clubs adds further complications to Everton's pursuit.

Competing against local rivals like Liverpool, who likely have more financial resources and prestige, makes it challenging for the Toffees.

Moreover, with Everton already having financial constraints and potentially limited funds available for transfers, pursuing Beier, especially with a release clause involved, might not align with their current transfer strategy and priorities.

Sean Dyche will have more important positions that need to be strengthened as and when the funds are made available so fans can forget about this one happening.
