Everton and Brighton have been predicted to share the spoils in the Premier League on 17 August by Owen Hargreaves.

The former Manchester United midfielder was asked to predict the scoreline and he believes both sides will score in a 1-1 draw.

This will be Fabian Hurzeler's first game in charge of the Seagulls and Hargreaves expects them to play good football.

He told Premier League Productions' Team Talks on 17 August, 10:25 am: "That could be tricky. First game for Hurzeler. Gonna play some lively football. Score draw. 1-1."

Everton have a chance to pick up the three points v Brighton

The new manager effect might see Brighton still adjusting to Hurzeler's tactics, potentially leading to tactical inconsistencies that the Toffees, under the established guidance of Sean Dyche, could exploit.

Playing at Goodison Park offers them a significant home advantage, with the atmosphere likely to energise the team, possibly unsettling Brighton's new setup.

Everton might not only avoid defeat but could potentially secure a victory, leveraging their familiarity, home support and strategic insights against Brighton's new managerial challenges.

Dyche has been backed relatively well in this window and while the loss of Amadou Onana will sting, there's plenty to look forward to.

Retaining Jarrad Branthwaite's services has also been a huge boost and there's no reason why they cannot better on their performances from last season.

Hopefully, they can start off on a winning note and then take things forward with one or two more signings.
