Gabby Agbonlahor shares what Jack Grealish told him about Everton after what Sam Matterface pointed out
Jack Grealish is still growing into his second loan spell at Everton.
The popular winger scored twice and provided six assists in 20 Premier League appearances for the Toffees last season.
Unfortunately, injury curtailed Grealish's campaign in February, and there was uncertainty about whether he would make the return from Manchester City.
Eventually, though, a second loan was agreed on transfer deadline day, and the popular Grealish returned to Everton.
He has yet to score or assist, but only two of his five league appearances have been as starts, and he has created two big chances that were not converted.
Gabby Agbonlahor, a friend of Grealish's, has now shared what the England winger told him about Everton and David Moyes during a discussion on talkSPORT.
Sam Matterface makes point about Everton squad under David Moyes
Sam Matterface and Agbonlahor were preview Everton's lunchtime clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
During the discussion, Matterface read out Everton's line-up against Hull City last time, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
It was pointed out that Moyes' side included nine English players, one Welshman (Brennan Johnson), and one Frenchman (Thierno Barry).
He put that point forward to former Villa striker Agbonlahor live on talkSPORT, and asked: "That's not a coincidence is it?"
Agbonlahor replied: "No, does that surprise you though with David Moyes?
"Jack Grealish said to me 'that's where I want to go, Everton, because of David Moyes'.
"Also, his man-management skills are top, so it doesn't surprise me."
Everton protecting strong home record vs Chelsea
Grealish will hope to be involved when Everton look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against Chelsea.
Moyes' side should have plenty of confidence against the Blues, who are one spot below fifth-place Everton on goal difference.
That's because Chelsea have won just one of their last nine away Premier League games at Everton (D2 L6).
That was a -0 win in August 2022, while they have failed to score in seven of those games, including the last three.
Chelsea have also conceded in each of their last 22 league games, only once having a longer run without a clean sheet (31 games between November 1960 and August 1961).
So, there is plenty of reason for optimism ahead of the fixture, as Everton seek consecutive Premier League wins over Chelsea for the first time since 2019.
