Gabby Agbonlahor stunned by 'absolutely shocking' thing he's told before Everton vs Chelsea - 'wow'
Everton are looking to retain their unbeaten record this season when they host Chelsea on Saturday.
The Toffees drew 2-2 at Hull City last time out, meaning they have still yet to taste defeat this season.
It could have been even better for David Moyes' side, who fought back from a goal down to lead 2-1 before Mohamed Belloumi equalised for the Tigers.
Everton are consequently fifth in the table after taking 10 point from their first six league encounters.
They are above Xabi Alonso's Blues only by virtue of goal difference, but Moyes will hope the home support of the Hill Dickinson Stadium can get them over the line.
And one thing Gabby Agbonlahor was told live on talkSPORT left the former Aston Villa striker stunned.
Everton are protecting a pround recent record against Chelsea
Chelsea have been pretty inconsistent this season.
Most pundits acknowledge the strength they have in attack with the likes of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers in their ranks.
But defensively they have been pretty sketchy, and Chelsea have conceded in each of their last 22 league games, only once having a longer run without a clean sheet (31 games between November 1960 and August 1961).
Moreover, they have a pretty poor record in away games with Everton, winning just one of their last nine visits to the Toffees (D2 L6), a 1-0 win in August 2022.
Indeed, they have failed to score in seven of those games, including the last three.
Sam Matterface told Agbonlahor about their record at Everton, which left his co-host surprised.
"Chelsea's record there is absolutely shocking by the way, they have a problem with this fixture. One win in nine league visits," Matterface said live on talkSPORT.
Agbonlahor replied: "Wow."
He then added: "And they're looking (strong with) the starting XI they can pick under David Moyes.
"Jack Grealsh has started well. Brennan Johnson's been unlucky hasn't he? Dewsbury-Hall, Hayden Hackney on the bench is available as well, they've got Garner."
Everton looking for seven-year first against Chelsea
Everton have every reason to feel confident when Chelsea make the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.
They have a really strong home record against the Blues, and have been in good form this term - even if they would have liked more wins to go with the four draws they've had.
But they are looking for consecutive league wins over Chelsea for the first time since 2019.
They defeated the Blues in March and December that year, under two different managers (Marco Silva and Duncan Ferguson).
It would be a big statement from Moyes and his side if they can win this one.
