Jarrad Branthwaite wasn't best pleased with Jordan Pickford at one point during Everton's draw with Manchester United.

The Toffees clawed their way back to earn a point after a 2-2 draw on Sunday, following a stunning stoppage-time stunner from debutant Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

However, it wasn't long before that when Benjamin Sesko powered in what he and Man United thought was the winner.

Michael Carrick's reaction to the Blues' last-minute goal explained everything about what he thought about a draw, though his face wasn't the only unhappy one.

Branthwaite was left frustrated with his goalkeeper after the power on Sesko's header beat the wrists of the England international.

Now, Pickford is being seen as someone who may need to be carefully assessed over Everton's season.

Pickford has suggested that he wants to retire at Everton, and no doubt has the ability to be the number one shot-stopper this season.

He's now racked up 362 appearances for the club, and could easily reach the 400 mark this campaign.

He had a mixed bag for England at the World Cup, but will be hoping for a successful league season under David Moyes this time around.

But the 32-year-old's performance against the Red Devils has caused some concern.

While writing for the Liverpool Echo, Everton historian Paul McParlan put Pickford on a list of three "concerns" after the match.

He wrote: "The normally reliable Pickford could have done better, especially with United’s second goal. The look that Branthwaite gave his goalkeeper after the ball crossed the line said it all.

Pickford was placed alongside Merlin Rohl, a worry at right-back, and Thierno Barry, who has no natural cover behind him after a controversial transfer window.

Pickford played in each of Everton's 38 league games last campaign, conceding 50 goals but keeping 11 clean sheets.

He had a 66.7 per cent save ratio and prevented 3.79 goals in total.

He ended the campaign with a 6.9 FotMob score, but already has a 7.2 average after three matches this season, largely due to two good performances against both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

His save percentage is at 75 per cent, while he has prevented 0.77 goals.

If Pickford keeps this up, he will be on for an all-timer of a campaign for Everton, though it is only three games into the season.
