Iliman Ndiaye exit: Surprise Everton transfer verdict emerges already

Everton are very likely to hold onto Iliman Ndiaye until the summer despite potential January interest, according to Ian Darke.

Ndiaye arrived at Goodison Park this year from Marseille and has shown excellent glimmers of quality in an ailing team who have replaced Sean Dyche with David Moyes.

TV commentator Darke, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, admits that any possible interest would be a surprise before 3 February with PSR mentioned yet again.

"I would be surprised if there were clubs queueing at the door to prise him away from Everton," he said.

"He's been good, he brings much-needed flair to the side, but probably not to the level where someone will come in waving a huge cheque - especially with the PSR constrictions.

"Is he a player a recruitment officer would look at to give you that number 10 creative option? Possibly, yes. But it's probably one for the summer if so, I think Everton probably keep him."

Everton in a bygone era under Moyes flourished going forward in their prime, during which the Merseyside club were qualifying for Europe.

The Toffees are now under the stewardship of the Scotsman almost 12 years after his departure for Manchester United, and fans are in high hopes he can eventually get the best out of this squad again.

Ndiaye, 24, has five goals and two assists so far this season for club and country, and Moyes will be hoping to bring out a tenacity on the ball with players such as his number 10, which has for too long largely lacked in this Everton setup.
