Jamie Carragher shares what he has noticed about new Everton transfers
Sean Dyche is hesitant to play many of the new players he's signed since taking charge at Everton, Jamie Carragher has said.
Speaking on the Overlap's Fan Debate (18 December), Carragher pointed out that despite Dyche signing several players for decent money during his time in charge, only Iliman Ndiaye is a regular starter.
Dyche has instead leaned on many of the experienced players who were already present upon his arrival, with Youssef Chermiti, Beto, Tim Iroegbunam and Jake O'Brien struggling for game-time.
Carragher said: "From when (Dyche) came in, any player he's bought virtually, they're still not really in his first XI – maybe Ndiaye this season?
"But Pickford was there before he came, the left-back Mykolenko was there, Branthwaite was there, Tarkowski was there, Dwight McNeil was there, Calvert-Lewin was there, Doucoure was there, Gueye, Michael Keane was already there.
"They haven't spent loads of money, but you've bought a lot of players, there's about five or six player for about £15–20million – they don't play."

The Toffees' financial circumstances in the last two summer transfer windows has seen them sell many more big-name players than they've bought, but that doesn't mean they've been unable to spend on the squad.
Chermiti and Beto have both been unable to displace Calvert-Lewin - at the club since 2017 - as Dyche's preferred number nine, with free transfer Ashley Young the only 2023 signing who plays regularly.
Of the most recent influx after the Blues spent roughly £40million last summer, only Ndiaye has been a mainstay in the side and is seen by many as arguably the best player for Dyche this season.
Iroegbunam started brightly in midfield, but injury issues have put paid to him rubber-stamping a regular place in the team, while O'Brien's four appearances have been few and far between.
Dan Friedkin's impending takeover is expected to provide a much-needed cash injection for the January transfer window, but given Dyche's record, signing several new faces could be a wasted exercise.
