Everton are preparing for brighter days ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock, though Goodison Park is expected to remain of importance to the Toffees elsewhere.

After what has been a troubled few seasons at Goodison Park, Everton will be full of optimism ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock, with hopes of putting their past behind them.

Having spent 132 years at Goodison Park, it will certainly be a bittersweet feeling for the Merseysiders as they seek their new adventure, though their old ground is likely to be used for other purposes, which will serve as a huge benefit for other reasons.

Everton women set to benefit from Bramley-Moore move

While David Moyes' side will be looking forward to their new home, Goodison Park could become the new home elsewhere, with Brian Sorensen's Women's side looking to move in.

That is according to a report from Paul Joyce via The Times (1 April), where it states that Everton's executive chairman Marc Watts has addressed the staff on Merseyside while informing them of the owner's desire to find the best home for the Women's side.

Everton are moving into a new stadium this summer, with a huge increase in capacity.

The move would certainly be a welcomed one and could be one that encourages more to attend the women fixtures, with their current ground, Walton Hall Park, unlikely to be deemed fit for purpose when the WSL requirements are imposed.

TFG are said to have "commissioned a feasibility study" to see if the move would be applicable, with a series of projects planned for Goodison Park.

Bramley-Moore move will benefit Everton in more ways than one

TFG have already made several improvements at Everton, with the appointment of David Moyes doing plenty to steady the ship.

The move to Bramley-Moore will see the Toffees rake in more matchday income, while also putting the old miserable atmosphere of relegation battles behind them.

If the Women's team are to move into Goodison Park, that should be a huge benefit to the accessibility of their home games while also showcasing that TFG are willing to make an investment at that level as well.
