Jamie Carragher has predicted Everton will fall to another defeat when they take on Newcastle United at St James' Park.

The Toffees make the three-hour trip north on Tuesday (2 April) aiming to snap a three-game losing run in the Premier League.

Sean Dyche's men are winless in 12 in the competition, meanwhile, in what is their joint-longest ever such streak.

And Carragher expects Everton to make some unwanted club history as he tipped a 2-1 win for Newcastle in his Sky Sports Super 6 prediction.

Everton's head-to-head record vs Newcastle United

Newcastle have won their last three home league meetings with Everton and have been victorious in five of the past seven games overall.

However, Dyche's side did win this season's reverse fixture 3-0 at Goodison Park thanks to goals from Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Beto.

To say the Toffees have lost form since then would be a huge understatement. Indeed, they have taken just five points from the past 36 on offer.

Not since 2017-18 have Everton completed a league double over Newcastle - who will be without Anthony Gordon - so the omens do not look good on that front.

Beyond those previous encounters, what truly matters is the here and now and unfortunately Everton are simply not clicking at the moment.

A win surely has to arrive at some point, though, and hopefully a surprise result at St James' Park will kickstart the club's campaign.
