Sean Dyche will not be pleased with Orel Mangala after the Everton ace struggled in Belgium's draw against Italy.

The Red Devils managed to play out a 2-2 draw at Stadio Olimpico despite going two goals behind within 25 minutes on Thursday (10 October).

Goals from Maxim De Cuyper and Leandro Trossard nullified Italy's lead given by Andrea Cambiaso and Mateo Retegui, with Lorenzo Pellegrini's 40th-minute red card helping Belgium.

Despite the two-goal deficit, Belgium spotted an opportunity to get back in the game and possibly claim a win after Pellegrini's red card.

However, Mangala was among the few players who failed to find another gear before being replaced by Timothy Castagne.

On the surface, the Everton midfielder posted decent numbers, completing 40 passes with 100 per cent accuracy per FotMob.

However, only four (10 per cent) of them were played into the final third, hinting at a lack of intent from the 26-year-old.

For context, Mangala's midfield partner Youri Tielemans played 11 of his 40 passes (27.5 per cent) into the final third.

His lack of involvement was also evident in other areas as he registered only 49 touches of the ball, while seven Belgium players had more.

Similarly, he won only two of his five duels, with none of them being in the air.

This underwhelming performance comes amid uncertainty over Mangala's future at Goodison Park.

The Belgian is unlikely to have a long-term future on Merseyside if The Friedkin Group's takeover plans go through.
