Carlos Alcaraz has been ranked as one of the worst Premier League players so far this season.

Much of this is due to the form of stars such as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish at Everton, who have no doubt made the squad more competitive.

Despite this, Alcaraz has reportedly been great in Everton training, as he looks to prove to David Moyes why he should be in the first team.

However, WhoScored on 12 November argue that the attacking midfielder’s performances in the Premier League have been far from impressive.

WhoScored ranks Carlos Alcaraz as the seventh-worst Premier League star this season

As it stands, WhoScored believes that Alcaraz is the seventh-worst player in the Premier League this season.

The website has awarded the Everton star a 6.11 average rating, with stats such as his 80.6 per cent passing accuracy looking poor.

Carlos Alcaraz stats in the Premier League this seasonPer 90 minutes
Key passes 0.1
Passing accuracy 80.6%
Dribbles 0.6
Shots0.5
Blocks 0.1
Average passes 11.6
Alcaraz has multiple poor stats this season

However, this is a slightly baffling assessment of Alcaraz, who Alan Shearer once labelled “superb”.

To date, the attacking midfielder has put in some excellent performances in the Premier League, with Alcaraz’s appearance vs Crystal Palace being excellent in the 2-1 win.

Therefore, it is hard for this ranking to be justified, with the Argentine being nowhere near one of the worst Premier League players this season, when he is not even the worst star in Everton’s squad.

Alcaraz looking “mustard” in Everton training

As mentioned above, despite not getting minutes, Alcaraz has been performing well in training.

Sky Sports journalist was at Finch Farm on Friday, and couldn’t help but comment on his performance via X.

He said: “Alcaraz looking mustard in training on Friday, only for him not to get a minute bodes well.

“There’s a healthy competition for places, certainly in midfield, which Everton have previously lacked. Moyes couldn’t pick Garner at right-back without opting for Iroegbunam’s profile.”
