Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford endured a rollercoaster evening as England booked their spot in the World Cup semi-finals.

The Three Lions came from behind to defeat Norway 2-1 after extra time in hot and humid conditions in Miami.

Andreas Schjelderup's cross-shot put Norway in front after 36 minutes, sparking a nervy period for England.

Jude Bellingham scored a fine equaliser on the stroke of half-time to send England into the break on level terms.

Bellingham was then England's hero, following up Morgan Rogers' spilled effort in extra time to score what proved the winner.

Here are three moments from Pickford's outing as England set up a last-four date with Argentina on Wednesday.

Jordan Pickford prevents England calamity

England had started the game pretty comfortably, without really testing Orjan Nyland in the Norway goal.

But they were almost caught up in a calamitous moment in the 34th minute with the game still locked at 0-0.

John Stones had his pocket picked deep in England territory, and the ball almost rolled into the path of the deadly Erling Haaland.

Thankfully, Pickford - who became England's most-capped World Cup player on 18 - was alert to the danger and scooped up the ball.

Gary Neville and Ian Wright fume at Pickford

While Pickford came up trumps there, two minutes later he was all at sea when Norway went ahead.

Schjelderup had too much space on the left in fairness, but his goal - which was definitely a cross - should have been tipped over by Pickford, who inexplicably pulled his hand away.

Speaking on ITV's coverage of the game, Gary Neville said: "That can't go in the net from there.

"Jordan Pickford is not going to want to see that again. It is a cross, but he has to save it."

Ian Wright agreed, saying: "You have to put your hand on that. You can't take your hand away. If a ball is coming in your vicinity and you have the opportunity to touch it, you have to."

Pickford gets away with another in England vs Norway

In fairness, in true Pickford style, he did rebound later in the game after some shaky moments.

But he almost had another moment to forget in the 76th minute, when a routine corner was met with a poor punch.

Norway recycled the ball, and Kristoffer Ajer's looping header landed on the crossbar, with Haaland shooting into the side-netting on the follow-up.

Thankfully, England got away with it, but Pickford's performance will be sure to come under fire in the coming days.
