Tim Sherwood prays to god about Everton star Jordan Pickford as he highlights concern
Everton's Jordan Pickford has been backed to continue as England's number one for the foreseeable future.
The 32-year-old's position as the guaranteed starter has come under question after James Trafford was given the nod for the 3-2 defeat to Spain.
Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the Leeds star was given that game and will play the first clash with Czechia.
Then Pickford will come in for the contest with Croatia, and the rematch with the Czechs.
The situation has sparked debate over the future of the number one position with the Three Lions.
However, Tim Sherwood, who was capped three times by England in his career is having none of it.

Pickford's status is coming under question and Tuchel even claimed that he hoped Trafford would provide genuine competition.
However, Sherwood claims that the manager knows that his number one is the Blues star, and is just trying to find a capable backup.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Tuesday, he said: “If there was a World Cup final tomorrow, it would be Jordan Pickford.
“I just think he knows his number one, he just wants to know who is going to be there for backup if something happens.
“Please god nothing happens to Jordan, he has done nothing wrong for England, he is a fantastic servant, and he has been brilliant for Everton.”
It remains to be seen whether the ex-Tottenham and Blackburn star is correct, but the data suggests that Pickford should not be dropped yet.

Pickford has not shown that he deserves to lose his spot, it is as simple as that.
