David Moyes was in charge on one of those occasions in 2006-07, while Carlo Ancelotti was responsible for the other in 2020-21.

Everton edged past Ipswich Town 1-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium at the weekend to keep the feel-good factor alive.

The Toffees have also beaten Crystal Palace, Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers in all competitions, while drawing against Bournemouth, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

That leaves Moyes' side seventh in the Premier League and with a Carabao Cup last-16 tie against Newcastle United to look forward to.

And it has also seen Everton move up Opta's global power rankings in recent weeks.

The rankings are based around results on a relative scale for teams across the globe.

The usual suspects of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester City make up the top three, to give some context.

The Toffees are one spot above Borussia Dortmund and 12 in front of Atletico Madrid, with those clubs Champions League regulars.

A few more positive results for Everton after the international break could easily see them crack the top 10.
