Everton have thought about signing Roma striker Artem Dovbyk in a swap deal that would include Beto.

The Ukraine international has been linked with a move away from the Serie A giants, with a price tag of around £21.5million on his head.

Talks of replacing Beto with Dovbyk at the Hill Dickinson Stadium have taken place, with the possibility of the two moving in the other direction.

David Moyes expects The Friedkin Group to sanction two or three deals in January, but it remains to be seen whether the Blues will reinforce the number nine position.

Everton swap deal for Beto and Artem Dovbyk falls through

Negotiations for Dovbyk are "virtually impossible" after the striker picked up an injury, according to Il Messaggero.

The news outlet reports on 13 January that the possibility of a swap deal between Roma and the Toffees for a swap deal have fallen through.

It's been claimed that the Ukraine international isn't expected to return until the end of January, complicating matters at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Dovbyk has failed to replicate the form he showed at Girona in Italy, but the Blues would've been confident about bringing the best out of him.

Moyes hasn't been able to rely on Beto up front, and with Thierno Barry also inconsistent, bolstering the attack feels like a priority for the Merseyside outfit to end the season on a high note.

David Moyes should push for second striker target at Hill Dickinson Stadium

AZ Alkmaar forward Troy Parrott is a target for Moyes, and the Scottish manager should push TFG to sign him immediately.

The Republic of Ireland international has drawn attention from many people with his heroics for club and country this season.

In the Eredivisie, the centre-forward has scored nine goals in 12 appearances in the current campaign, continuing his exploits since joining the Dutch side in 2024.

Parrott should be a priority target for Moyes in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen whether the American owners will be willing to splash the cash on him.
