Braiden Graham left in the dark as Everton uncertainty continues
Everton gem Braiden Graham is still unsure of the club's plans for him this summer.
The Northern Irish sensation is one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Finch Farm.
The Blues rejected the idea of sending him out on loan in the winter transfer window, but David Moyes does not feel that he is ready for the first-team.
The Toffees have a dilemma on their hands, whether they allow Graham to leave on loan for senior football, or keep him playing at Under-21 level.
Given his latest comments, it appears he is still in the dark over their plans for his immediate future.
What has Braiden Graham said about his Everton future?
Graham has opened up on his plans for the summer, and it seems he does not know what the Blues want to do with him.
He is currently away with his national team after getting his first call-up for the squad, but focus will soon turn to club football again.
In an interview with Everton TV on 3 June, he said: “I’ve been working hard on different parts of my game, on and off the pitch, so I’m happy I’ve kicked on this season and done well.
“I’ll keep working hard in the off-season and then come back and hope to have a good pre-season and kick on, maybe go on loan or stay here.”
It is far from ideal that the player does not already know what the club are planning for him for the 2026-27 season.
There should be a clear strategy to get him ready for a senior berth, rather than the uncertainty that he faces right now.
There's an obvious next step for Graham
With Moyes not ready to give him senior minutes, Graham should seek a loan move away from Hill Dickinson Stadium.
That would be much better for his development, than staying put and playing for the academy side.
Under-21 football is not going to benefit his game at the moment, as he needs to learn the rigours of the professional game.
Then he could come back to Everton and potentially challenge for a spot in the first-team ranks.
The Liverpool Echo claimed on 5 June that the Toffees sensation was attracting loan interest from the Football League.
That would be a good move as he can prove his ability to Moyes, away from the pressure of the Blues.
The Scotsman has shown a reluctance to throw young talent in at the deep end, and it appears that he is taking the same approach with the former Linfield man.
