Everton have placed Igor Jesus on their radar ahead of the January transfer window, according to UOL.

Felipe Silva, who reported the news via the Brazilian outlet's website, added via X [8 December] that the Toffees have made contact with the Botafogo striker, who John Textor wanted to bring to Goodison Park if his takeover attempt succeeded [Alan Nixon].

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have been told they will not be successful with offers below £16.6million upon enquiring, meaning Sean Dyche's side would have to fork out a similar sum as they look to strengthen their attack amid Beto's uncertain future on Merseyside [Calciomercato.com].

Apart from Everton and Forest, Wolves are also in the mix for the 23-year-old ahead of January and it is easy to see why.

Jesus joined Botafogo from Shabab Al-Ahli on a free transfer in the summer and has since scored eight goals and provided five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions, helping them win the Brazilian Serie A and the Copa Libertadores.

With the Brazil season now wrapped up and the January transfer window just weeks away, the Brazil international is understandably attracting a significant amount of interest.

RTI Esporte reported in November that Botafogo were adamant about avoiding any transfer negotiations before the season ended and pointed towards Jesus' £83.5m release clause to any interested party.

A £16.6m fee, however, is much more feasible for Everton, who are also possibly thinking about a future without Dominic Calvert-Lewin as he enters the final six months of his contract.
