Everton look set for a busy second half to the January transfer window.

David Moyes is still waiting on his first new signing of the month, as the Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful begin to grow concerned over Everton's lack of transfer movement.

It's not for a lack of trying, though, as Everton have tabled a £21.2million deal to sign Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce.

But it's outgoings where the most movement seems to be happening, with Beto possibly set to leave Everton and young goalkeeper Harry Tyrer close to a move to Cardiff.

Everton find EFL destination for Will Tamen

Will Tamen signed for Everton in the summer of 2024 from Burton Albion, and went straight into the Toffees' academy system.

The 19-year-old centre-back has been impressing for the Under-21s side, and now Everton's academy decision-makers feel he's ready to gain more experience in the senior game.

Confirmed via Everton's official club website on Friday, Tamen has joined local League Two side Tranmere Rovers for the remainder of this season.

Andy Crosby's Rovers are currently sitting 17th in League Two, but are a comfortable 14 points above the relegation zone and just eight off the play-off places.

Why Tranmere is shrewd destination for Tamen

Despite having the obvious benefit of being just a few miles down the road, sending Tamen to Tranmere could see him get plenty of minutes in the tank.

Rovers tend to play with a three at the back, with Crosby routinely deploying three central defenders in his starting line-ups.

However, Tranmere have shipped 39 goals in 25 games this season, which is only narrowly better than the two sides - Harrogate Town and Newport - who are currently occupying the relegation places.

Therefore, Tamen should have a very good chance of coming in and instantly getting starting opportunities, and it could prove to be a really valuable experience for him as a result.
