Kingsford Boakye's exit has been confirmed by Everton.

The 21-year-old was one of the most highly-rated talents at Finch Farm, but he will depart later this month.

The Toffees released their retained list on 10 June, and the announcement states that the Ghanaian is one of the players who will leave.

He notched three goals and three assists in 21 matches for the Under-21s in the 2025-26 season.

The talent is set to land on his feet, though, and it surely will not long before he finds his next club.

There is plenty of interest in his services, and that makes sense, given that he is a history maker for the Toffees.

What Everton history did Kingsford Boakye make?

Boakye made Everton history when he became the first Blues player to score from open play at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Paul Tait's side were involved in test events before the stadium was officially opened, and they lost the first one 2-1 to Wigan, failing to score from open play.

Boakye opened the scoring in the second game against Bolton, heading home from Roman Dixon's cross.

Who wants to sign Boakye after Everton exit?

There are plenty of suitors for the former AC Milan academy talent, so he will have his pick of destinations after his Hill Dickinson exit.

The likes of Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Brighton, and RB Leipzig have all been credited with interest.

It is a damning indication of the Blues' academy at the moment, that the sensation was not willing to stick around and wait for his chance in the senior set-up.

David Moyes has not proven that he will give young players a chance in the first-team ranks and that surely played a part in his decision making.

Everton will hope that Boakye does not go on to have a successful career with one of the aforementioned clubs, as it will not reflect well on them if they let him go and he becomes a superstar.

It remains to be seen what he can achieve in the senior game, but losing one of their biggest talents is not a good sign for anyone involved with the L3 outfit.
