Everton are in the frame to strike a deal with Chelsea for Armando Broja, according to Tutto Mercato.

The report by Andrea Losapio [3 July] confirms that the Toffees are in "pole position" to land the Albania international, who is facing complications in a proposed move to AC Milan.

With European giants Milan reportedly only ready to part with a fee in the £25million range for a sure starter, Everton are ready to swoop in having long been keen admirers of the striker.

Chelsea are keen to raise funds and are open to the sale of Broja, who still has four years to run on his current deal.

The report also dropped Wolves as another English club with the 22-year-old on their radar.

Everton could complete Armando Broja signing

With his age profile and an affordable fee despite the length of his contract, Broja could represent a good investment for Everton.

Whilst the need would have been more pressing had Dominic Calvert-Lewin's proposed move to Newcastle United gone through, Sean Dyche will doubtless be keen to add firepower in all areas.

A selfless and hard-working attacker if not prolific, Broja has years of improvement ahead of him and already has 66 Premier League appearances to his name, with a further 23 Albania caps.

Chelsea have been attempting to use Broja as a makeweight in potential deals, having looked to part-exchange the striker with Leicester City for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who they secured in any case.

Broja, Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah were also offered to Newcastle United in a sensational Chelsea move for Alexander Isak [Football Insider, 29 June], which the club wanted to complete before last Sunday's PSR accounts deadline.

The availability is certainly there, and it's thought that if Dyche wants Broja enough, Everton will sign him.
