Everton learn Enzo Boyomo exit conditions as Osasuna star wants Premier League move
Everton remain keen on the possibility of signing Osasuna's Enzo Boyomo.
The Toffees have several transfer priorities this summer, and signing a new centre-back may be another one of them.
Boyomo played 30 times in La Liga last season and has been on the Blues' radar for a few months.
David Moyes was unable to steer Everton into a European spot last season, as some Evertonians would argue that a weak defence didn't help.
The Toffees are hoping for Jarrad Branthwaite to return in time for pre-season, though they may want to find him a new defensive partner this summer.
That could be Boyomo, as Everton have now learnt the minimum asking price of the 24-year-old.
Osasuna set Enzo Boyomo exit conditions as Everton remain interested
According to Africa Foot on Friday, Osasuna do not want to let Boyomo go for less than £21.5million this summer.
Benfica were said to be interested, but the price set out by the Spanish outfit exceeds the limits of their transfer strategy.
Osasuna have set the minimum asking price for their Cameroonian international, a fee any interested club will have to present before officially starting negotiations.
Everton have been named as interested, along with fellow Premier League sides Fulham and Ipswich Town.
Boyomo is said to be open to a Premier League move this summer.
However, the defender has one standout factor of his profile that Moyes will be aware of.
Boyomo's height could be problem in Premier League
As much as Michael Keane and James Tarkowski get their criticism, one thing they cannot be judged by is their respective ability in the air.
The pair are dominant in aerial duels, as their height makes them one of the best duos for protecting their side against crosses and direct attacks.
However, Boyomo is 6,0", according to Transfermarkt, a height that may be too short for a defender in the Premier League.
Moyes has historically always had towering defenders, and so the former Blackburn Rovers youth star would be different to what the Everton boss usually looks for.
Boyomo won 53.1 per cent of his aerial duels last season in La Liga, a stat that ranked on the lower side for centre-backs in the division.
Everton may need to proceed with caution, especially due to the nature of the Premier League's physicality.
