Everton make call on Mandela Keita transfer after late deliberations

Everton have made their decision on Mandela Keita.

The Toffees have a new-look midfield this season, but are looking to add another man in the middle ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline.

Keita has cropped up on the Blues' radar, and there have been reports linking him to Hill Dickinson throughout the summer.

Hayden Hackney, Harrison Armstrong and James Garner are all main options in the middle of the park for David Moyes this season, but despite this, there have been talk of more competition for the trio.

Keita has been touted for a late move to Everton, and the Toffees have now made their choice.

Everton make late Mandela Keita call

Everton have been in contact with Parma over the possibility of signing Keita.

The Toffees have faced competition from Italian giants Roma for the 24-year-old.

However, after late deliberations, Everton have decided against a move for the Belgian.

Sacha Tavolieri posted on X on Tuesday evening: "After initial deliberations, Everton FC has decided not to make a move for Mandela Keita this summer."

As it stands, it looks like Everton will not bring in another midfielder, with all eyes on Folarin Balogun, Jack Grealish and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Balogun has been on Merseyside since lunchtime in the UK, but he has hit a problem with his medical.

The USA international was supposed to be joining the Blues in a £38.5million deal, and though there has been a problem with the medical, the Toffees are still working on a deal.

Monaco need a sale, and both sides are hoping for a resolution, but Everton are desperate for a new striker after selling Beto to Fiorentina for £17m.
