Everton make offer to Juventus for Weston McKennie, he wants £160,000 per-week
Everton have made an offer to Juventus for midfielder Weston McKennie but his wage demands are an issue, according to Calciomercato.
Writing on their website (20 July), the news outlet report that there is currently a stalemate between the Serie A club and USMNT star as they want to sell him but he refuses to drop his wage demands.
The former Leeds loanee is demanding €5million (£4.2m) per-year net in wages, which works out at around £160,000 per-week gross, and as such there is no agreement for him to leave yet despite interest from Everton.

With Amadou Onana all set to move to Aston Villa for £50million [Fabrizio Romano, 13 July], there is money to spend on the first-team squad at Goodison Park.
Despite the Friedkin Group takeover collapsing (Athletic, 19 July), Everton believe there is no issue with their finances in the short-term and are adamant that Jarrad Branthwaite won't be sold to raise more funds [The Athletic, 20 July].
But when it comes to signing players they can only do so much, and McKennie would be a decent option to replace the Belgian with his physical attributes that suit Sean Dyche's style.
However, £160,000 per-week is a crazy amount of money for anyone at Goodison Park, especially with the current financial uncertainty and if he refuses to budge from that amount then the club must move on.
If Juventus are willing to pay off his contract to make him accept a move away that could certainly help the situation, so this is one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
