Everton make official bid to seal Daniel Munoz transfer as figures revealed

Everton have made their move official for Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz.

With only five days left in the transfer window, the Toffees are yet to sign a right-back for another summer.

Merlin Rohl started the season there in the 2-0 win over Palace, with Jake O'Brien also used out of position last year.

David Moyes and Angus Kinnear have made it clear they want a new option there, but have yet to make progress.

Munoz started at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, and was even spotted talking with Moyes at full time.

And that could be seen for years to come as Everton make their move.

The Colombian looked to be slipping away on Thursday as Nottingham Forest made their move.

It's been said that Oliver Glasner's side have made a £22million bid to bring his former star to the City Ground.

That has sparked Everton into action, though.

Julian Capera has now reported that Everton have made their bid official, too, described as a similar proposal to the £22m bid elsewhere.

The Colombian journalist with over 150,000 followers on X suggests that an open bidding war.

How Daniel Munoz became Premier League star

Signing from Genk back in 2024, the South American was literally an unknown in the Premier League.

Having only played for two clubs in Colombia before his move to Belgium, it would have been no surprise if the bright lights of England took hold of him.

That never happened, though.

Instead, he became the best right wing-back over time, regularly scoring and assisting goals at Selhurst Park with ease.

Helping deliver consistent silverware as well, Munoz has done nearly all he can at Palace, with another move likely now.

With eight goals and 13 assists during his time in the Premier League, that is something Everton have lacked for years.

Seamus Coleman always did his best, but wasn't incredible going forward, while Leighton Baines showed how it was done on the left.

Munoz could have that effect on the Toffees, although there are doubts over whether Moyes would utilise him right.

There's only one way to find out, and the Friedkins have to deliver by winning this transfer race before 1 September.
