Everton want to sign Josh King in the summer transfer window.

As revealed by Goodison News over the weekend, Everton are monitoring the services of King at Fulham ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The 19-year-old has been regular in the Cottagers' squad this season, having made 21 Premier League appearances and 26 across all competitions.

King's performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs over the last six months, with Fulham likely to need to fend off interest if they are to retain him this summer.

However, if Everton are to make a move for the midfielder, they must prevent a repeat of what has happened with Tyler Dibling.

Josh King transfer would be all too similar to Tyler Dibling's

A talented English teen making a big-money move to Everton after a breakthrough campaign in the Premier League sounds familiar.

And that is because that is exactly what preceded Dibling's £40million move to Everton last summer.

And since then, Dibling has started just four times in the Premier League, and has failed to register a goal or an assist in any of his 16 appearances across all competitions.

David Moyes has admitted that the winger still needs time, but when taking into account the money paid for him, the Toffees don't have that luxury.

It could be a similar case for King, and the likelihood is that it would take a similar fee to prize him away from Craven Cottage in the summer, and he would simply have to hit the ground running.

Where would King fit in at Everton?

When King has featured for Fulham, he has typically started in the 10 role behind Raul Jimenez.

His last Premier League start saw him register an assist in that position, as well as making eight defensive contributions against Tottenham.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is currently occupying that position on Merseyside, and it would take something special to move him away from his role.

For King, that may be a good thing to have that direct competition, but it would also make it increasingly difficult to get up to speed, knowing that his position would be under constant threat.
