Everton are one of several Premier League teams said to be chasing the signature of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

With little left to play for in the Premier League, Everton will have already turned plenty of their focus to the summer transfer window.

Ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore, Everton have a lot of work to do on the recruitment front, and signing a new striker seems to be high up on their list of priorities.

Delap is one of the names to have been linked with a move to Merseyside, and the latest update may serve as somewhat of an optimistic one for the Toffees.

Delap will be on the move this summer

Given the form he has demonstrated in the Premier League this season. It seems almost inevitable that Delap will be leaving Ipswich Town in the summer.

The Englishman is believed to have a release clause of £30million after relegation, and according to a report from talkSPORT (12 May), he is keen on playing his football in the north-west of England.

While there will be several Premier League clubs in that region of the country willing to pay the money to sign him, Everton will be able to offer him something that not many of those sides will be able to.

That thing being first team football on a regular basis, with Beto potentially on his way out amid links to recently promoted Leeds United.

Everton face make-or-break summer window

Under David Moyes, Everton have made a lot of progress, but there are still some glaringly obvious frailties among the squad.

If progression is to be achieved, that needs to be addressed, and it is imperative that the Toffees recruit well in the coming months.

If a deal can be sealed for in-demand Delap, it would be a remarkable piece of business, but it would be far from the only signing of quality that they need to make this summer.
