Everton are now "positive" about the prospect of Jaden Philogene joining the club, according to Paul Joyce.

The journalist reported via X on 9 July that the Toffees now believe that the Hull City start wants to join them this summer.

Sean Dyche's side have even had a £16million bid accepted for the winger despite interest from elsewhere.

What Jaden Philogene would bring to Everton next season

The start of the summer transfer window has been surprisingly busy for Everton.

The Toffees have welcomed Jack Harrison back and have also brought in former Sheffield United man, Iliman Ndiaye.

Many expected the Toffees to have a quiet window due to PSR concerns but it seems that those troubles are behind them, for now at least.

Dyche's side have also rejected a second £50m bid for Jarrad Branthwaite [Fabrizio Romano, 8 July] as they hold out for the £70million that they desire.

Philogene would be an exceptional addition to Everton's squad, especially since he's only going to cost them £16million.

The former Aston Villa starlet played 32 Championship games for Hull City last term and managed to contribute to a total of 18 goals during that time.

He can be deployed on either wing and would add yet another attacking option to their attack.

And, at just 22 years old, there's plenty of room for him to grow as a player and become the Toffees' star man.
