Everton set Gabriel Sara meeting already as January move on cards
Everton are already taking steps to pursue Gabriel Sara in January.
The Blues are understood to have had the one-cap Brazil star on their radar for a long time.
David Moyes' side may finally be set to make their move for the former Norwich man.
With just 18 first-team players on their books, the onus is on the Friedkin Group and the recruitment team to make sure that the squad is bigger after the winter window.
It appears that Sara could be the first addition for the Toffees when the market reopens.
A new update from Turkey has been shared on his situation.
What is the latest on Everton's interest in Gabriel Sara?
Everton seem to have taken the advantage in the race for Sara's signature.
A report from Turkish newspaper Takvim's print edition was shared by A Spor on 8 October.
It states that a meeting between the Blues and the 26-time Super Lig champions is set to take place in January.
Premier League rivals Newcastle United are also understood to be interested in the 27-year-old.
Further reporting from A Spor labelled the Brazilian as an "influential' midfielder.
Do Everton need to sign Sara?
Everton's midfield is already one of their strongest areas of the pitch.
The likes of James Garner, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and youngster Harrison Armstrong have started the season strongly.
They also have new signings like Christian Norgaard and Hayden Hackney, who are capable of coming into the side.
Merlin Rohl is the final name that makes up the engine room, and it seems quite crowded at the moment.
There may be question marks over whether the L3 side need to sign Sara, but he would be a quality addition.
He has already notched two goals and two assists in six league matches so far this campaign, and already has experience in English football.
That was in the Championship, but he has already shown that he can step it up to a harder league, so will fancy the challenge of the English top-flight.
Whether the deal is actually made remains to be seen, the meeting may not go the way that the Blues want, or the player want, so there are still hurdles to jump through.
