Everton appear to have ruled themselves out of the running to sign Talleres winger Ramon Sosa this month, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 7 August that having signed Jesper Lindstrom, the Toffees are not looking for another wide attacker.

Everton need to invest funds to strengthen their defence ahead of the deadline

The club's decision to withdraw from the race to sign Sosa indicates a shift in their transfer strategy.

While the 24-year-old could have added depth to their attacking options, the club's recent acquisition of Lindstrom suggests that their focus is on strengthening other areas of the squad.

Given Everton's defensive vulnerabilities in recent seasons, it would be prudent for the club to invest funds in reinforcing their backline.

The Toffees conceded 51 goals in the Premier League last season, highlighting the need for a more solid defensive setup.

Strengthening the defence could help Everton improve their league position and compete more effectively in domestic competitions.

Moreover, with the transfer window nearing its end, the Merseyside outfit should act swiftly to secure their defensive targets.

Failure to do so could leave them vulnerable in the early stages of the season, potentially impacting their overall performance.
