Douglas Luiz has been heavily linked with a move to Everton this summer.

The former Villa man moved to Juventus last summer, but has not found success in the Serie A.

Therefore, a quick return to the Premier League is being touted, with the Brazilian aiming to get his career back on track.

Everton have been chasing Luiz throughout the transfer window, and now the saga has taken yet another twist as David Moyes looks to land the 27-year-old.

Everton and West Ham submit offers for Douglas Luiz

Everton have been competing with West Ham for Luiz throughout the transfer window.

Both Premier League sides are in the race for the Brazilian international, with neither willing to end their pursuit.

Now, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, page 16 (20 July), both sides have now submitted offers for Luiz.

Juventus value the midfielder at £34.6 million and are looking to find a new club for the 27-year-old.

Luiz is one of the highest-paid players at the Old Lady and is currently surplus to requirements.

The report fails to mention how much either Premier League side has bid for the star, or if Juventus have accepted or rejected the offers.

Luiz would be the perfect Idrissa Gana Gueye replacement

Everton were in panic mode this summer due to how many contracts were expiring, with Idrissa Gana Gueye’s being one.

While the Toffees did manage to tie down Gueye to a new deal, the midfielder will be 36 years old by the time this expires.

Therefore, Everton need a replacement ready-made for the 2026/27 campaign, and Luiz would be just that.

The midfielder is likely to thrive back in the Premier League and could easily play another five years at the top.

Hopefully, Everton will quickly get the deal done before West Ham beats Moyes’ side to the Brazilian.
