Everton have reignited their interest in Ernest Nuamah from Lyon and are ready to make an offer "soon", according to Fabrice Hawkins.

The RMC Sport journalist posted on X (10 January) that Nuamah has a "good chance" of becoming a Toffees player within this month's transfer window.

Nuamah could follow Jake O'Brien and Orel Mangala as a third player signed for Everton from Lyon so far this season, having been monitored for a significant time by the Merseysiders.

Hawkins shared: "Everton are reportedly keen to sign Lyon's Ernest Nuamah and could make an offer soon.

"If the two clubs can reach an agreement, there is a good chance that the 21-year-old winger will be heading to the Premier League before the end of the winter transfer window."

Everton back in for Ernest Nuamah signing

It has been little secret that Kevin Thelwell and Everton have kept tabs on Nuamah, having missed out on a deal to bring him to Goodison Park in the summer window.

The exciting winger is still just 21 and is being touted for a huge future in the game, despite having scored just once this season in Pierre Sage's side.

Lyon are currently fifth in the Ligue 1 table but are suggested to be open to offers for Nuamah, and will expect interest in the alluring talent before the end of the month.

Alongside Everton, Fulham were also previously keen on the Ghanaian (Sunday People, 22 September), who has already netted three times in 12 senior caps for his nation.

The Toffees are adjusting to life after Sean Dyche, who was dismissed by The Friedkin Group earlier this week in what has been the ownership's third sacking from their network of clubs so far this season.
