Everton are one of the teams in the race to sign Fenerbahce centre-back Jayden Oosterwolde.

The 25-year-old could leave Istanbul this summer and England could be his next potential destination amid interest from the Toffees.

After more than three years at the Super Lig outfit, they seem to be ready to cash in on the Dutch defender in the coming weeks.

Fenerbahce are looking to get around £17million to sanction Oosterwolde's possible move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues have continued to rely on James Tarkowski and Michael Keane, but the two 33-year-old defenders aren't getting any younger.

With Jarrad Branthwaite facing consistent fitness issues in Merseyside, David Moyes could do with another left-footed centre-back and Oosterwolde may be just that.

Jayden Oosterwolde's season in numbers amid Everton interest

According to Fanatik, no official offers have been received for Oosterwolde as the Toffees, Lyon, Porto, Benfica and Schalke keep an eye on him.

The £17m fee could be a bargain for a player like the Dutch centre-back, who was valued higher and kept 10 clean sheets in 31 league appearances for Fenerbahce in the 2025-26 campaign.

As per Sofascore, the defender recorded 0.9 interceptions, 1.2 tackles, three clearances and three ball recoveries per game for the Super Lig club.

Oosterwolde won a little more than half of his duels, with 2.5 ground and 1.2 aerial duels per game this season for the Turkish side.

The Netherlands national has also shown competency with the ball at his feet, averaging 71.9 touches per game, while completing 89 per cent of his passes and 70 per cent of his dribbles.

Oosterwolde stood out in one particular league game for Fenerbahce this season in the 3-1 win against Rams Basaksehir, with the centre-back's attacking impact overshadowing his defensive contributions.

The defender created one big chance, played one key pass, recorded an xA of 1.22 without being credited with an assist and the Merseyside outfit surely need someone like him to give them an attacking edge from the back when necessary.

David Moyes may soon be handed fresh transfer request

Jake O'Brien has been a key player for Everton since Moyes' appointment, but there's acknowledgement among supporters that a new right-back is needed.

The Republic of Ireland international has done a decent job playing out of his natural position for the Toffees, but his attacking frailties are evident in the role.

If the Blues were to sign a new right-back and centre-back, 25-year-old O'Brien could potentially face uncertainty around his game time in L3, which may prompt him to look for guaranteed opportunities elsewhere.

Everton are heading into a new era, and it's about time their new signings show that.
