Everton transfer news as AC Milan update emerges in Armando Broja race

Everton will have to battle with Serie A giants AC Milan this summer if they wish to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea, according to the Express.

The newspaper reported via its online edition on 26 June that the Albania international was ready to "ditch" the Premier League in favour of joining the Italian side.

Milan's approach is said to be "particularly enticing" to Broja as the striker believes his style could be well suited to playing in Serie A.

Over the last couple of seasons, Broja hasn't had the best of times and he endured an underwhelming loan spell at Fulham in the second half of the season.

In the previous campaign, having integrated himself into Chelsea's first team, the 22-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament which ruled him out of contention for a significant period of time.

But Broja is still seemingly a man in demand and he is reportedly featuring high on the Toffees' wish list, particularly with doubts over the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

David Ornstein described Calvert-Lewin's future as "one to watch" amid their recent PSR issues [David Ornstein, 25 June].

With this in mind, it's not a surprise to see the Merseyside club linked with players such as Broja.

One thing that was highlighted last season was a lack of consistent goal threat and Broja would be a player who could help in that regard, and offer another target for attacking threats such as returning loanee Jack Harrison.

The Leeds United player has just re-joined the Toffees on another season-long loan [Fabrizio Romano, 21 June] following a fairly successful campaign last season.
