Everton, West Ham, Brentford and Bournemouth are all keen on signing Middlesbrough defender Rav van den Berg, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 6 March that the Toffees have scouted the 19-year-old centre-back recently.

While he is highly rated at Middlesbrough, the Dutchman could consider an exit in the summer despite the club wanting to hold on to him.

Will van den Berg improve Everton?

If the Toffees are seriously considering signing the Dutchman, they must proceed with caution and ensure they thoroughly evaluate his potential as the money remains tight at the club.

At just 19 years old, van den Berg is not yet a finished product, meaning there is a level of uncertainty regarding his future development.

Additionally, with interest from several Premier League clubs, his value could increase rapidly, making him a costly acquisition.

However, if Everton were to lose players like Ben Godfrey and Seamus Coleman in the summer, van den Berg could provide valuable depth, especially given his ability to play as a right-back.

It's important that they carefully assess his current abilities, future potential and the potential impact of his arrival on their squad dynamics before making any decision.

It's crucial for them to weigh the risks and rewards of signing him, considering both short-term and long-term implications for the club.
