Everton 'want deadline-busting Timothy Weah transfer' as Juventus stance shared

Everton are one of several clubs interested in a late move to sign Timothy Weah from Juventus before the transfer window closes, according to Ed Aarons.

The Guardian journalist posted on X (2 February) to report that the Toffees, Fulham and RB Leipzig are all keen on bring in Weah before the 3 February deadline, albeit any deal at this stage will be difficult.

Serie A giants Juventus are reluctant to let the USA winger leave Turin so late in the transfer window, and it's unlikely that a transfer will be sanctioned as David Moyes' Toffees look to strengthen their squad.

If the Toffees are to beat Fulham and RB Leipzig to Weah's signature – both of whom are having superb domestic seasons themselves – let alone convince Juventus to greenlight his exit, they'll have to act fast.

Moyes is on the hunt for reinforcements up front despite Beto discovering a new lease of life since he re-took charge at Goodison Park, as the Guinea-Bissauan scored two goals in their 4-0 rout of Leicester.

As things stand, Beto is the only fit centre-forward on the Toffees' books following injuries suffered by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja, with Youssef Chermiti also still on the treatment table.

Though the Blues are likely to keep Broja in the fold rather than send him back to Chelsea prematurely, Moyes is still in need of additional firepower up front, and Weah could fit the bill as a versatile option.

Weah's own injury record isn't the best, but with his capability to cover the right flank – another area the Toffees hope to strengthen in – the US forward could be exactly what Moyes needs to pad out his squad.
