Everything David Moyes just said about Mohamed Salah signing for Everton on Egyptian TV
David Moyes wasn't shy when revealing Everton joy at Mohamed Salah officially leaving Liverpool.
The Egyptian agreed an early mutual termination of his contract to leave Anfield last season, which has now become official.
Salah is currently at the World Cup, with Egpyt set to take on Argentina for a spot in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Strangely, Moyes was on Egyptian TV duty as he prepares for a return to pre-season at Finch Farm with Everton.
After two defeats in last season's Merseyside derbies, revenge will be high on the list at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But, when quizzed on Salah running out in blue instead of red, Moyes was quick to respond.
Would Mo Salah ever join Everton?
Given his astronomical wages for a start, it's basically impossible.
Salah was widely known to be on £400,000-a-week at Anfield, and that was justified given his success and silverware that he delivered.
Moyes wasn't having any of that, though, and slammed the door firmly shut around the hypothetical transfer talk.
Speaking on Egyptian TV station, ON Sport, Moyes was quizzed on Salah moving across Merseyside.
"No," he said. "No, not possible, the rivalry is too big."
That wasn't all that Moyes had to say, and he spoke for nearly every single Evertonian while on air.
"I am not a specialist on Mo Salah because my team is Everton and we are fierce competitors.
"But I think all Evertonians were glad to see the back of Mo because he has been so good over the years."
Mohamed Salah's history against Everton
Moyes is right on one thing, nobody in blue will miss Salah.
Even last season when the winger was supposedly past his best, he still managed a goal and an assist in the two fixtures.
With nine goals and three assists in 15 appearances against Everton, it's enough to be a constant thorn in their side.
Thankfully, for the Toffees, others have been hit much harder by the Egyptian star, who will likely never play in the Premier League again.
Moyes will be glad to see the back of him, but Everton fans will want their manager off TV and back on Merseyside.
After the shocking end of last season, throwing European football away, the Blues need to right some wrongs, and do it quickly.
That starts with pre-season and transfers, with the latter already kicked off by Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George.
Forget Salah, Everton need to get spending money further.
