It was reported on Monday morning that Arsenal could be set to hijack Tottenham's move for Ndiaye.
However, in a fresh report from Football.London, Spurs aren't going to give up their pursuit of the Toffees star without a fight.
It's claimed that Tottenham and Everton remain in strong discussions over a deal to bring the winger to North London.
The report claims that the Lilywhites want to get this finalised ASAP and get Ndiaye to their Hotspur Way training ground imminently.
Once there, he can get his medical underway as Spurs look to beat Tuesday's 11pm deadline.
But why are Tottenham so keen to sign Ndiaye aside from his obvious ability?
Why Ndiaye would help Tottenham conform to Premier League rules
As detailed in the aforementioned report from Football.London, Ndiaye wasn't registered as a homegrown player by Everton.
He is French by birth and represents Senegal on the international stage.
Regardless of that, Ndiaye does qualify to be a homegrown player, as he joined Boreham Wood as a 17-year-old before moving to Sheffield United.
Tottenham currently have eight homegrown players in their squad, which is the minimum they're required to have.
So, bringing Ndiaye in takes the pressure off in that respect, and could free up one of those players to leave too.
