Iliman Ndiaye owes Everton more respect as new exit comments emerge
Iliman Ndiaye has shown a lack of respect for Everton with his latest admission.
The Senegal star has refused the Blues' attempts to tie him down to a new contract.
That has led to speculation over a transfer, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal rumoured to be interested.
His current deal expires in 2029, meaning that the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit have control over the situation.
However, he could put pressure on the Toffees to try and seal an exit, and he has now commented on his situation.
The 26-year-old needs to show the L3 outfit more respect when it comes to his future.
What has Everton star Iliman Ndiaye said?
Exit-linked Ndiaye has opened up on a desire to eventually return to Marseille, where the Blues signed him from.
He notched just four goals and five assists in 46 matches in all competitions for Les Phoceens.
In quotes from France Football, he confirmed that he wants to go back and prove the doubters wrong from his time in France.
He said: “I’m a believer and I think what happened was meant to happen.
“Perhaps that season in Marseille even helped me in the long run. And I’m certain the story isn’t over at all with Marseille.”
Why Ndiaye owes Everton more respect
Ndiaye owes the Blues a lot. They took a chance on him after that dismal spell at Stade Velodrome.
They have helped him into the player that he is today, one that is being chased by some of the biggest clubs in the game.
He needs to remember that, and not make comments about his future that are disrespectful to David Moyes' side when it comes to his potential transfer.
The player is clearly buying into his own hype, and while that can be good for his performances on the pitch, it does not bode well for the Toffees' chances of keeping him.
They may in control when it comes to his contract, but selling him may be the best option, if he continues to act in that way, and see himself as bigger than the club who took a chance of him when his career was at a low point.
It is fair if he wants more ambition from the club, but he should not be saying he wants to return to a former club when he is employed by the Blues.
