Jarrad Branthwaite angered by new Everton transfer developments

Jarrad Branthwaite is becoming "increasingly agitated" by the ongoing transfer saga between Everton and Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its website (2 July) that the Red Devils are, however, looking at improving their bid for the defender.

Although an initial bid of £43million in total was rejected, an offer in the region of £70million would be enough to potentially get the deal done.

Should Everton should sell Jarrad Branthwaite this summer?

Branthwaite has been one of, if not the biggest transfer story to come out of Everton this summer window.

Alongside Amadou Onana, the former Carlisle man was one of Sean Dyche's best performers and even managed to get himself a call-up to England's provisional Euro 2024 squad.

Although Erik ten Hag's initial bid wasn't at an acceptable level, should a bid in the region of £70million come in, the Toffees would be foolish not to say yes.

Not only would a bid that high make Branthwaite the second-most expensive player they've sold but it would also allow them to improve their squad across the board.

It's evident that Dyche needs replacements and even depth in some areas should the Merseyside club wish to better their top-flight finishes from recent years. Especially if star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaves Goodison Park this summer.

But, without significant investment, it's unlikely that the club will see any improvements, hence the potential need to sell Branthwaite this summer.
