Juventus are monitoring Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as talks are set to begin over a new contract for Dusan Vlahovic, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reported [17 October, page 7] that the Serie A giants are looking to reduce the Serbian star's £20million salary (€24million), with talks to continue in December.

Vlahovic's current deal expires in 2026, and with the Old Lady unable to afford the total salary, the club want to reduce the terms and spread over a wider period or see the player exit.

It is understood that Calvert-Lewin, whose contract runs out at Goodison Park next summer, is being seen as a potential replacement alongside Lille's Jonathan David.

Juventus to sign Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Dusan Vlahovic replacement?

The Toffees are already in a very sticky situation with their star striker, with the player entering the final 12 months of his contract, so a decision must be made soon.

Goodison News has been exclusively told that the club remain in talks with the 27-year-old regarding a new contract, something that remains a number one priority on Merseyside.

However, with Chelsea and Newcastle United likely to battle for Calvert-Lewin's signature in January, as per GiveMeSport [15 October], the Toffees may have to sell in the next transfer window.

While it is a difficult decision to make, leaving just Beto as the only other out-and-out centre-forward option, the Toffees run the risk of losing him on a free transfer in the summer instead.

Calvert-Lewin has hit the ground running so far this season, scoring twice and assisting once in his opening seven league appearances, being a key figure under Sean Dyche.
