Ndidi set for Besiktas medical - Three midfielders Everton could now sign instead

Everton have undergone a fairly tepid transfer window so far, although that could change at any given moment.

Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with Everton, but he is set for a medical with Besiktas.

The defensive midfielder was relegated with Leicester City last season and appears to be leaving England.

With that in mind, David Moyes will be keen to add reinforcements in the hub of his midfield, with several options on the table.

Everton close in on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea, with the 25-year-old undergoing his medical on Merseyside.

It has been reported that the Toffees will pay an initial £25million for the Englishman, with £5million in potential add-ons.

The midfielder was mostly utilised by Chelsea in the UEFA Europa Conference League, where he made the majority of his starts.

However, Dewsbury-Hall showed immense promise while at Leicester and notched 26 goal contributions in 44 Championship appearances.

While an announcement is imminent, it does not appear that the North West outfit will stop at him.

Douglas Luiz is a worthy option for Moyes

Perhaps a more glamorous Everton signing would be Douglas Luiz, who is now allowed to leave Juventus. The former Aston Villa man only moved to Turin last summer, but has failed to make an impact in Italy.

However, the Toffees are up against multiple other clubs pursuing the Brazilian, including Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

  • Luiz thrived at Aston Villa
  • Has struggled with Juventus
  • Set to return to the Premier League this summer

The 27-year-old only made three starts last term, but demonstrated his ability while at Villa Park.

Luiz is a more versatile option in central midfield and can play as a defensive option or in a more advanced role.

Everton target Dion Lopy from Almeria

If the Merseyside club are to look abroad, then Almeria's Dion Lopy could be a potential target.

Everton are especially keen on Lopy, although his current employer is reluctant to part ways with him.

The 23-year-old would present a cheaper option for the Toffees as he is currently playing his trade in the Spanish second tier.

Last season, the Senegalese international demonstrated some encouraging statistics, highlighting his all-around potential.

While Ndidi would have been a sturdy option, there are many reputable targets for Everton to pursue.
