Sean Dyche could bring one of his former Everton stars to Nottingham Forest.

While the Scotsman has reinvigorated the Blues, the Tricky Trees have already dismissed two managers after a torrid start to the campaign.

Dyche will be looking to turn that around, and he will need new signings in the winter transfer window, to have any chance of doing that.

Sean Dyche to seek Dwight McNeil reunion

Dyche may look to Everton for reinforcements as he looks to take Forest up the table and salvage their season.

A report from SportsBoom on 22 October claims that Dyche is plotting a shock raid to bring his former Blues star Dwight McNeil to the City Ground.

It claims that the new Forest boss is desperate to reunite with McNeil, who has two years left on his contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Why McNeil would be open to the move away from Everton

McNeil would surely be open to an exit, as he cannot get into the Toffees' team at the moment.

The 25-year-old has played just five times so far this season, with just two of those appearances coming in the Premier League, for a total of 23 minutes, a stark comparison to the last campaign.

  • McNeil featured 23 times last season for Everton
  • 21 appearances came in the Premier League, with two in the EFL Cup
  • He notched five goals and eight assists
  • He has struggled to break into the side this time around

He has featured twice in the EFL Cup and once for Everton Under-21's in the EFL Trophy, and will want to play more regularly.

If he can reunite with Dyche, who utilised him a lot in his time with the L4 outfit, it would be a great move for all parties involved, and could give McNeil a new lease of life in a new environment.

He would surely jump at the chance, and the Blues should also do that if they receive a suitable offer for the ex-Burnley ace.
